Why do I need aerial images?

Our product allows you to visualize your site, regardless of what it is, in a manner completely unavailable to our normal point of ground reference. These images allow you to reference your site in relation to the world as opposed to a person on the surface. The aspect of aerial photography gives the viewer the maximum available information about a given parcel of land in the smallest amount of space and the shortest amount of time. Aerial imaging is superior to satellite technology not only due to the resolution power of our equipment but the fact that a closer image still retains fragments of how we see the world every day. The image is more recognizable to the viewer and more powerful as a visual aid.

How much will the images cost?

Distance - Altitude - Use - are all factors that determine the cost of the image packages. The main expense of course is where the image site is located in relation to the current location of the aircraft. The aircraft has a fixed base of operations in Bellingham, WA. The second factor is how high the camera needs to be flown to in order to encompass the appropriate area within the frame of the camera and selected lens. Time and special climate considerations need to be taken into account for images that require high altitudes. The last consideration is how the images will be used. There is only a single point assessment of the exposures determined at the point of purchase. The images are either classified as private or commercial. These fees are assigned to the entire package and not the individual image files.

Can I ride along?

Some jobs require active customer input at the time of image capture, or you may just want to be aboard for the ride. Customers are always welcome when possible if time and conditions permit. A nominal surcharge is applied to account for gross weight adjustment and aircraft performance.

Is my site appropriate for aerial photos?

There are several factors that determine the suitability of your site for aerial imaging. If trees are too thick to see a dwelling from the ground, they are most likely too thick to get any better vantage point from the air. Aspect can also be a critical component of the site. If a site is located on the north slope of a hill in the winter then a capture session may not be appropriate due to poor light quality, as well as pointing the camera at too close of an angle towards the sun. Lot size can also be a troublesome point if it is an irregular shape or several hundred acres in size then other properties will not be isolated from the frame. Properties on the shoreline need to strongly consider tide height and water quality when trying to determine the correct time for a capture session.

Who Flies when you are taking pictures? A safety pilot operates the second set of controls and looks for other aircraft while on target. The airplane makes slow turns with the target property in the center of the turn.

How high are the pictures taken? For most properties the airplane is 1000-2000 feet above ground level.
